Toby Ferguson serves as the Chief Medical Officer at Voyager Therapeutics, Inc. since March 2024, previously holding the position of Vice President and Head of the Neuromuscular Development Unit at Biogen from May 2018 to March 2024. Prior roles at Biogen included Executive Medical Director and Senior Medical Director, where Toby led early clinical development for neuromuscular and movement disorders, and contributed to early phase drug development in ALS and other neuromuscular diseases. Earlier experience includes a position as Medical Director at Biogen, with a focus on early phase ALS drug development, and an academic role as Assistant Professor of Neurology at Temple University, establishing a research laboratory and teaching graduate students. Educational credentials include a Neuromuscular Fellowship and Neurology Residency from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, an M.D. and Ph.D. from the University of Florida College of Medicine, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida.
