Michael Grannan

Associate Director, Neuroscience at Voyager Therapeutics

Michael Grannan has a solid background in scientific research and drug discovery. Michael started their career at Pfizer as a Postdoctoral Fellow, where they focused on studying Alzheimer's disease and conducting experiments to assess brain network dynamics. Michael also contributed to the development of imaging platforms and studied the role of the hippocampus in spatial navigation tasks.

After their time at Pfizer, Grannan joined Aquinnah Pharmaceuticals as a Scientist, where they worked on in vivo and translational pharmacology for ALS and AD small molecule drug discovery programs. Michael was responsible for planning, overseeing, and interpreting various studies, both internal and external.

Currently, they are working at Voyager Therapeutics, Inc. as a Senior Scientist. In this role, they continue to contribute their expertise in scientific research and drug development.

Michael Grannan started their education journey at Purdue University in 2006, where they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Neurobiology & Physiology. Michael spent four years in Purdue and successfully completed their undergraduate degree in 2010. Following their bachelor's degree, they enrolled in Vanderbilt University and embarked on a six-year Ph.D. program in Pharmacology. Michael achieved their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from Vanderbilt in 2016, culminating their extensive education in the field of Pharmacology.
