Fen Chen has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. They started their career as a Research Assistant at the National University of Singapore in 1994 and worked there until 2000. Following that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 2000 to 2003, where they focused on tissue engineering for cartilage and cardiac tissue.

In 2003, Fen Chen joined Boston Children's Hospital as a Research Fellow for a year. They then moved on to Sanofi Genzyme in 2004, where they worked as a Principle Research Associate until 2015. During their time at Sanofi Genzyme, they gained expertise in a variety of research areas.
