Étienne Cantin, CPA, CMA, has a diverse range of work experience. Étienne currently works as a Senior Advisor, Finance & Business Operations at Vosker, where they are responsible for developing profitability and performance analyses to support strategic decision-making. Étienne also leads special projects involving various departments to improve operational efficiency. Prior to this, they served as a Controller for the Digital Division at Vosker, overseeing the production of high-quality financial information for subscription activities and actively participating in the update of accounting and operational processes.
Before joining Vosker, Étienne worked as a Financial Analyst for Mesure de la Performance, where they created and coordinated budget planning and monitoring processes for five different companies. Étienne produced and communicated variance analyses between budgeted and actual results and supervised updates to key financial performance indicators.
Étienne has also held roles in other industries, including Trio Orange, where they worked as a Conceptual Copywriter, developing innovative television and digital products within budget constraints, and Productions Déferlantes, where they worked as a Content Producer, coordinating multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient project advancement and adherence to brand image and quality standards.
In their earlier career, Étienne worked as a Chief Researcher for the TV show "XOXO" at Productions Déferlantes and as a Conceptual Copywriter at Attraction Images, where they developed innovative television and digital products, prioritized projects, and facilitated brainstorming sessions. Étienne also served as a Researcher for the TV show "Vol 920 - Season 2" at Productions J, where they coordinated a team of seven people and facilitated smooth information flow between executives and the project team.
Étienne's career also includes experience as an Assistant Producer at Jet Films, where they worked closely with advertising agencies and clients to realize creative visions and manage logistical, contractual, legal, and budgetary aspects of projects. Étienne also worked as an Account Manager at BDC, where they analyzed client financial statements, conducted financial and operational due diligence, and provided tailored solutions based on client needs. Earlier in their career, Étienne worked as a Financial Analyst at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where they produced review engagements and income tax returns for commercial clients and maintained effective communication with client accounting teams.
In addition to their work experience, Étienne enjoyed a nine-month sabbatical, traveling around the world with a backpack.
Étienne Cantin, CPA, CMA began their education journey in 2004 at the Université Laval, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting. Étienne completed this program in 2008. In 2010, Étienne enrolled in the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés (CPA) to further their education and became a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) in the same year. Additionally, in 2012, they attended L'institut national de l'image et du son (L'inis), where they completed a program in Television, specifically focusing on the production aspect.
