Peter Kempner is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in various roles within the legal field. Currently serving as Legal Director at Volunteers of Legal Service since May 2018 and as an Adjunct Professor at New York Law School since August 2015, Peter has made significant contributions to legal education and services. Prior to these positions, Peter held several key roles at Legal Services NYC from September 2001 to May 2018, including Veterans Justice Project Director and Senior Staff Attorney. Early career experiences include internships at Urban Justice Center and Drug Policy Alliance, as well as research positions with Drug Reform Coordination Network and Drug Policy Alliance. Peter holds a JD from Cardozo School of Law, an MA in Political Management from The George Washington University, and a BA in Political Science and Government from Purchase College, SUNY.
