Juan Aguayo has a diverse background in mechanical engineering, with experience spanning over several companies. Juan currently holds the position of Sr. Principal Mechanical Engineer at Volkswagen of America, Inc. Prior to this, they worked at Flex as a Senior Engineering Manager and Associate Principal Mechanical Engineer. Juan also served as a Mechanical Engineering Manager and Mechanical Design Engineer during their time at Flex.
Before joining Flex, Juan worked at Southwest Research Institute as a Research Engineer, where they were involved in various projects such as the design and thermal analysis of the Lunar Lander Test Bed, structural analysis for the Strofio Neutral Mass Spectrograph, and thermal design and implementation of a Two-stage Thermal Electric Cooler into a Gas Chromatograph.
Juan's early career includes roles at Flextronics as a Staff Mechanical Engineer, Andrew Corporation as a Mechanical Engineer, and Motorola as an Engineering Intern.
Juan Aguayo attended High school for science and engineering at Dunbar High School from 1989 to 1993. Juan then pursued their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University from 1993 to 1997. After completing their undergraduate studies, they continued at Stanford University to earn a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from 1997 to 1998. Juan then went on to pursue an Executive MBA at The University of Texas at San Antonio from 2009 to 2011.
