Mariana Paschoal has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Mariana is currently the Managing Director/Backoffice at Volkswagen Financial Services - México starting in August 2023. Previously, they held the position of Head of Risk Management FSAG at Volkswagen Financial Services from August 2022 to August 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Volkswagen Financial Services Portugal as the Country Manager Backoffice/Managing Director from January 2019 to September 2022, where they were responsible for various areas such as IT, Credit, Risk, Collections, Accounting, Controlling, Purchase, Legal & Compliance. Mariana successfully transitioned the company from start-up mode to a consolidated business and implemented core accounting and risk management processes.
Before joining Volkswagen, Mariana had a significant tenure at Volkswagen Financial Services | Brazil. Mariana served as an Executive Board Member from January 2016 to January 2019 and also held the positions of Chief Risk Officer - Risk Director from April 2018 to December 2018, Finance Superintendent/Head of Finance from April 2017 to March 2018, and Head of Controlling - Superintendent from September 2011 to March 2017.
Prior to their roles at Volkswagen, Mariana worked at Banco Fibra as a Financial Planning Manager from 2007 to 2011, and at American Express in various roles such as Financial Planning Manager - American Express Cards from 2006 to 2007, and Internal Control Manager - American Express Bank from 2005 to 2006. Mariana started their career at American Express in 1997, joining the Asset Management team at Banco Inter-American Express. During their time there, they performed various management functions, led teams, and worked in a matrix organization for the US Headquarters. Between 2002 and 2004, they pursued a full-time MBA in New York, USA.
Mariana Paschoal obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration from FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas in São Paulo, Brazil, in 1995. Mariana further pursued a Master's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance & Economics at Columbia University from 2002 to 2004. Mariana also completed the Program for Management Development at IESE Business School in São Paulo / Barcelona in 2016. Mariana attended various onsite courses, including Models for Credit Risk & Collection at FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas in 2018 and the Board Membership, Corporate Governance course at IBGC - Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance, also in 2018. Additionally, they completed the Oxford Women's Leadership Development Programme, an online course offered by Saïd Business School, University of Oxford by 2020.
