Rob James has been working in the technology industry for over 20 years. Rob started their career as a software engineer and has since held various leadership positions in the industry. Rob is currently the Chief Information Officer and Director of Business Enablement at Vodafone Australia.

Rob James has a proven track record in driving growth and innovation in the technology sector. During their time as the Group Chief Technology Officer at Qantas, they successfully negotiated and secured Blue Chip contracts with major companies such as Sensis, Lonely Planet, Qantas, and Nissan in Australia. Rob was also responsible for the technical strategic direction of the company, implementing and growing an Agile delivery team, sourcing and securing an Offshore Development Centre in China, and being the technical face of the company. Rob has spoken at numerous conferences and engagements on Aegeon, Web 2.0, and Enterprise 2.0.

Prior to joining Qantas, Rob James was the Chief Information Officer Australia for William Hill. In this role, they were responsible for driving the technology strategy for an online wagering business that was going through exponential growth. This included driving technology strategy, innovation, IT and online operations as well as architecture & governance.

Before joining William Hill, Rob James was the Chief Technology Officer at Echo Entertainment Group. In this role, they were responsible for the overall technology strategy of the company as well as leading a team of engineers and product managers.
