Michael Whitener is a partner at VLP Law Group LLP, a web-based law firm founded in 2008 that offers cost-effective legal services. With extensive experience in various roles, Michael served as lead counsel for technology and communications at Clearspire, a firm focused on reengineering legal practice. Prior to that, Michael was principal at VistaLaw International LLC, providing legal support to international companies, and group counsel for BearingPoint, Inc., managing international legal matters. Michael's career includes significant positions such as managing director and general counsel at WorldSpace Asia Pte Ltd, senior trade adviser at the International Trade Administration, and counsel at Hogan & Hartson. Michael began the legal career at Sidley Austin as an associate, and gained international insights as a Fulbright fellow at The Nikko Research Center, Ltd. Michael holds a JD from the University of Virginia School of Law and a BA in English from William & Mary.
