Jamie Tan has a long and successful career in software engineering and development. Jamie began working in 1990 as a Project Manager and Software Engineer for Lam Research Corporation. In 1993, they moved to Loral Corp. as a Software Engineering Specialist, where they were responsible for vehicle simulation on ModSAF. In 1996, Jamie transitioned to ADE Corporation as a Senior Software Engineer, where they led the development of a machine control software project for silicon wafer metrology systems. In 1998, Jamie joined Vivid Technologies, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer, where they participated in the development of explosive material detection algorithms for a next generation automatic x-ray airport baggage screening system. Later that same year, Jamie became a Consultant and Principal Software Engineer at Pitney Bowes/Mailcode, where they developed a software barcode reader. In 2001, Jamie was appointed Director of Research and Development at Maxim I/T Inc., where they managed the development of a state-of-art intranet search engine. Finally, in 2002, Jamie co-founded Imaginestics, LLC, where they served as Co-Founder and CTO, successfully launching a unique visual search engine. In 2014, Jamie co-founded VizSeek, where they currently serve as Co-Founder and CEO.

Jamie Tan has a long and impressive educational background. Jamie received their Bachelor's Degree in Physics from Fudan University in 1982. Jamie then went on to receive their Master's Degree in Physics from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in 1986. Finally, they completed their Ph.D. in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1990.
