Fred Logue

Fred Logue has a long history of work experience in the legal, technology, and intellectual property fields. Fred began their career in 2000 as a Senior Engineer at Lucent Technologies, where they designed and developed laser diodes for telecommunications applications. In 2003, they joined Hewlett Packard as a Technology Development professional, where they were responsible for generating valuable intellectual property. Fred was also a co-inventor of US patent 7,497,961. In 2005, Fred joined Enterprise Ireland as an Intellectual Property Commercialisation professional, where they developed an organisational framework to optimise intellectual property returns from R&D projects. In 2006, they rejoined Lucent Technologies as an Intellectual Property Licensing professional, where they became responsible for developing patent and technology assertion and licensing opportunities worth in excess of €50M. In 2007, Fred joined A&L Goodbody as a Lawyer, where they practised in competition law and intellectual property law. In 2012, Fred joined the Law Society of Ireland as a Part Time Lecturer and Member of the Intellectual Property Law Committee. In 2014, they joined FP Logue LLP as a Managing Partner, specialising in environment, planning, and information law. Fred also became a Non Executive Director at Vizlegal in the same year. In 2015, Fred joined the .ie Domain Registry as a Member of the Policy Advisory Committee.

Fred Logue obtained a BSc in Physics and Mathematical Physics from University College Dublin, followed by a PhD in Physics from Trinity College Dublin. Fred then obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in New Business Development from Technological University Dublin in 2010-2011. In 2012, they completed a course in Effective Group Facilitation from Reos Partners, and in 2013 they attended Harvard Law School for a course in Copyright Law. Fred also obtained a Dip in Arbitration from University College Dublin and a Professional Practice from the Law Society of Ireland. In addition, they are a Solicitor with the Law Society of Ireland and a Solicitor (non-practising) with the Law Society of England & Wales.
