Mark Brannan has worked in various roles since 2011. From 2011-2012, they worked as a Research Physicist at KP Technology, where they developed a prototype system to measure photoemission in air and improved the internal optical system of the company's production model light source. From 2012-2013, they worked as a Lab Demonstrator at the University of Birmingham, where they were responsible for groups of over 30 3rd year students in a multi-experiment optics lab. From 2015-2016, they worked as an Instrumentation Consultant at KP Technology. From 2016-2021, they worked as a Senior Physicist and Physicist at Cambridge Consultants. Currently, they are working as a Holographic Optical Engineer at VividQ.

Mark Brannan completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Physics at the University of Strathclyde between 2008 and 2012. Mark then went on to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physics from the University of Birmingham between 2012 and 2017.
