Derek Garcia currently serves as the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging, & Engagement Manager at Vivent Health, a position held since March 2023. Prior to this role, Derek worked at United Financial Freedom from 2019 to June 2023, focusing on interest-bearing debt reduction services tailored to individual financial situations. Concurrently, Derek was involved with Viv, managing non-interest bearing debt reduction services using innovative technology to save customers money on services. From 2018 to June 2023, Derek was part of Virtual Financial, offering life insurance services and supporting new and experienced entrepreneurs in the financial sector. Derek also owned and operated Corazon Services during this time, providing recruitment, training, management, consulting, and leadership mentoring. Derek's career began in the US Navy, where service as a nuclear-qualified electronics technician lasted from April 1995 to April 2001, operating nuclear reactors and maintaining control systems aboard the USS Nimitz. Education was pursued at the University of Colorado.
