John Owens

John Owens has consistent work experience in the healthcare industry. John started their career as a Member Services Representative at Southeast Health Plan, Inc. in 1992. John then became a Provider/Network Services Representative at the same company and conducted orientation sessions and worked through disputes with physicians and office staff. In 1995, they joined Health Partners of Alabama as a Marketing Representative, managing health insurance renewal processes and coordinating sales presentations. In 1998, they joined Computer Sciences Corporation as a Manager, Operations and Customer Service, where they managed claims operations and customer service department for multiple healthcare clients. In 2001, they joined Cahaba GBA (Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama, Inc.) as a Department Manager Medicare Operations. John worked there until 2014 and then moved on to VIVA HEALTH, where they held multiple executive roles, including Executive Director of Operations and Executive Director of Customer Engagement and Medicare Enrollment.

John Owens attended Troy University from 1988 to 1992, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. John then enrolled at the University of Alabama at Birmingham from 1995 to 1999, completing two different master's degrees. The first one was a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Health Care Organization and Policy. The second master's degree was a Master of Business Administration, but the field of study is not specified. Finally, from 2002 to 2006, John Owens attended the Birmingham School of Law, where they obtained a Juris Doctor degree.
