Alisdair MacLeod has extensive work experience in the software development field. Alisdair started their career at UK Civil Service where they worked as both an Advanced Apprentice and a Higher Apprentice. During this time, they gained experience in network infrastructure deployment and hardware reverse engineering. Alisdair then moved on to BAE Systems Applied Intelligence as a Software Engineer, where they researched and utilized Rust for systems programming. At CGI, they worked as a Technical Consultant, developing a mobile password management application. Alisdair later joined Elected Technologies as a Senior Software Engineer, leading the re-engineering of a PHP application into a React-Redux SPA. Alisdair also mentored and managed a team of Apprentice and Junior Developers. At Secarma Ltd, they worked as a Software Developer, developing web UI and introducing automated testing. Alisdair then joined Restorepoint as a Lead Software Engineer, where they administered development infrastructure and grew the development team. Alisdair's most recent position is as the Head of Network Software at Vitrifi, where they manage multiple teams and collaborates with product managers and customers to refine and prioritize requirements. Alisdair also built a network development team and implemented code guidelines and development processes.
Alisdair MacLeod's education history includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Computing and IT Practice from The Open University, obtained from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they completed a Foundation degree in Communication Systems, Security, and Computing at De Montfort University from 2012 to 2014. Alisdair also pursued Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Sussex from 2010 to 2011, and Mechanical Engineering from 2008 to 2010, also at the University of Sussex.
