Herc Kwan has extensive work experience in various technology companies. Herc started their career in 1991 as an Associate Member of Technical Staff at the Semiconductor Packaging Laboratory in Microelectronics and Computer Technology Corporation. Herc then worked as an Embedded Software Engineer at Trimble Navigation from 1991 to 1997.

In 1997, Herc joined Siemens as a Project Lead/Member of Technical Staff and stayed there until 2000. Herc then worked at Genband as a Project Lead/Embedded Software Engineer from 2000 to 2006.

Herc then joined Coherent Logix, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer from 2006 to 2010. Herc then moved to Maxim Integrated Products, where they worked as a Senior Member of Technical Staff from 2010 to 2012.

Currently, Herc is employed at VisualOn, Inc., where they have held two roles. From 2012 to 2018, they worked as a Technology Partnership Manager, and from 2018 until present, they have been serving as the Director of Innovation Ecosystem and Partnerships.

Herc Kwan's education history shows a strong foundation in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Herc completed their Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (B.S.E.E.) and Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics (Special Honors) at The University of Texas at Austin from 1986 to 1989. Herc then pursued a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering (M.S.E.) from the same institution, completing it from 1989 to 1991. Continuing their educational journey at The University of Texas at Austin, Herc Kwan obtained a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering in the years 1993 to 1998.

In addition to their formal education, Herc Kwan has obtained various certifications throughout their career. Herc earned the certification of Data Science: Bridging Principles and Practice from Emeritus in May 2022. Herc Kwan is also a Certified Widevine Implementation Partner (CWIP) by Widevine Technologies, certified in February 2015. Herc has demonstrated expertise in cloud computing by obtaining the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in September 2020. Furthermore, they hold the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification, AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty certification, and AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty certification, which were obtained in April 2021, January 2021, and November 2020 respectively.
