Matjaž Grabnar has extensive work experience in the aviation industry. Matjaž started their career in 1996 as a First Officer on a DC-9 with Adria Airways and later transitioned to being a First Officer on an A320. From 2006 to 2008, they served as a Captain on a CRJ with the same company. Matjaž then became a Captain and Training Captain on a CRJ from 2008 to 2011.

In 2011, Grabnar joined ElitAvia as a Crew Training Manager and a Type Rating Instructor on a CL605. Matjaž held this position until 2014. Following this, they worked at SunExpress as a Captain on a B737NG from 2014 to 2016. Currently, Grabnar is a Captain on a BD700 at VistaJet International, starting from 2016.

Matjaž Grabnar obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Aviation from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. Matjaž attended the university from 1990 to 1994.
