David Wathen has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple industries. David started their career in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Technician, working on the B1 Bomber from 1987 to 1990.
After their military service, Wathen joined Symbol Technologies in 1992, where they worked as a Technician and Principal Technician. David was responsible for troubleshooting and repairing various handheld scanner and mobile computing devices. David also managed work schedules and ensured on-time delivery.
In 2005, Wathen moved to Motorola Solutions as a Technical Floor Supervisor/Manager. David led a team of repair floor leads and supervisors, meeting daily volume and quality requirements. David also liaised with engineering and quality groups to address and resolve product defects.
Wathen continued their career growth at Motorola Solutions, becoming a Plant Manager in 2009. In this role, they managed the day-to-day repair operation and oversaw new product deployments. David worked closely with account managers, sales teams, and customers to ensure service delivery met expectations.
In 2015, Wathen joined RR Donnelley as a Program/Site Manager. David oversaw the operations of supply chain kitting facilities across two plants. Their responsibilities included managing the manufacturing and configuration of hard drives, as well as food kitting and medical kitting in a clean room environment.
From 2018 to 2021, Wathen served as the Senior Operations Manager at eco ATM. David managed the outbound sort, pack, and ship operations, overseeing inventory levels, and performing physical inventories. David was also responsible for facility maintenance and EH&S.
Currently, Wathen is working at Vista Packaging and Logistics from April 2022 onwards, in an Operations role.
David Wathen attended RETS Electronic Institute in Louisville, KY from 1990 to 1992. David earned an Associates of Science degree in Electronics Engineering Technology with a focus on Electronics.
