Emma Hossenlopp

Senior Product Manager at Vista Higher Learning

Emma Hossenlopp has a diverse work experience with various roles in different companies. Emma started their career as a File Clerk at Snyder, Park, Nelson & Schwiebert PC from May 2009 to August 2010. Emma then worked at the RIT English Language Center as a Conversation Partner from January 2011 to March 2011, where they assisted foreign students in learning about American culture.

Emma also worked at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) as a Research Assistant on Project ACE from March 2011 to May 2012, focusing on constructing an accessible IDE for the NXC programming language. Emma also worked as a Research Assistant on JBrick from March 2012 to May 2012, where they were responsible for ensuring compatibility with OS X accessibility features.

Emma joined Fidelity Investments as a Technical Intern from June 2012 to August 2012, working on designing interfaces for a mobile app. Emma then joined MITRE in June 2013 as a Co-Op in Human Factors, where they redesigned a critical Air Force software system and helped modernize PopHealth for the VHA.

In June 2014, Emma interned at HubSpot as a UX Intern, where they compiled a Sketch file of common UI elements and documented design inconsistencies. Emma then joined Vista Higher Learning in June 2015 as a Software Engineer, building user-facing features and serving as a scrum master on some projects. Emma later transitioned to a Product Engineer role in March 2019, leading cross-functional teams to improve platform and content accessibility. In August 2022, they became a Senior Product Manager, taking on projects focused on accessibility.

Throughout their career, Emma has demonstrated proficiency in software engineering, product management, UX design, and project management. Emma has experience working with cross-functional teams and has a strong focus on accessibility and user-centric design.

Emma Hossenlopp began their education at Alleman High School from 2006 to 2010, where they obtained their High School Diploma in the field of High School/Secondary Diplomas and Certificates. Emma then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology, spanning from 2010 to 2015. In 2014, they had a study abroad experience at the University of Limerick, focusing on a variety of subjects during their time there.
