Helen Danesh-Meyer, CNZM, MBChB, MD, PhD, FRANZCO, serves as a Professor at The University of Auckland and is the Chair and Scientific Director at the Vision Research Foundation New Zealand since October 2022. In addition, Helen holds leadership roles as Co-Chair of Women in Vision NZ and Chair of Women in Ophthalmology under RANZCO since September 2022. Serving as Chair of Glaucoma New Zealand since December 2008, Helen advocates for patients with glaucoma while promoting education and public awareness. As the Director of the Eye Institute since 2000, Helen has extensive experience in the field. Helen's education includes a Glaucoma Fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital and advanced degrees in medicine, including a PhD and MD from The University of Auckland, as well as an MBChB from the University of Otago.
