Gerard Sutton is an experienced ophthalmic surgeon and educator, currently serving as an Ophthalmic Surgeon at Vision Eye Institute since 2001 and as a Professor of Corneal and Refractive Surgery at the University of Sydney since 2010. Additionally, Gerard Sutton holds the position of Director for both the Corneal Surgical & Eye Bank Programme and the Lions Eye Bank of New South Wales, roles undertaken since 2014 and 2012 respectively. Gerard Sutton is a graduate of The University of Auckland, where a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) was obtained, and has completed fellowships at the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmology. Further medical training includes education at St Thomas' Hospital & Moorfields Eye Hospital in London and a Bachelor's Degree in Medicine from UNSW.
