Dang-Khoa Le Tan has a range of work experience, starting in 2012 as a Web Developer for the Center of Youth Promotion Science and Technology. Dang-Khoa worked on an online library project and managed and developed websites using PHP/Codeigniter, Javascript, jQuery, and MySQL.
In 2014, they interned at JAIST and conducted a literature survey on RGBD segmentation for hand gestures using devices such as Kinect and LeapMotion. Dang-Khoa used programming languages such as C++, C#, and Python.
In 2015, Dang-Khoa worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Saskatchewan, where they developed a new method for counting lymphocytes. Dang-Khoa proposed a new image feature, learned from color channels and contours, and used a fusion classifier from SVM for classification.
From 2015 to 2018, they worked at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). As a Research Assistant, they were a major developer of a computer vision project funded by the Ministry of Defense. Dang-Khoa also conducted research on deep learning image retrieval. Additionally, they worked on the Urban-Area Scene-Based Localization project, developing a highly accurate localization system for Android mobile devices. Dang-Khoa translated Matlab simulation code to Java and C++.
At SUTD, they later became a Visiting Researcher, working on the "Urban Building Image Retrieval" project sponsored by the Ministry of Defense. Dang-Khoa designed and implemented an Android framework for the Image Retrieval System.
Most recently, since 2018, Dang-Khoa has been a Research Software Engineer at ViSenze - AI for Visual Commerce. Dang-Khoa has been involved in various projects, including object detection where they designed an annotation workflow, conducted research, and implemented ML models for multiple solutions. Dang-Khoa also worked on vector search, conducting research on state-of-the-art similarity search systems.
Dang-Khoa Le Tan received a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from VNUHCM - University of Science, which they attended from 2011 to 2015. In addition to their degree, they obtained several certifications. In March 2018, they obtained a certification in "C++: Building a String Library" from LinkedIn, as well as a certification in "Learning the Python 3 Standard Library" from the same institution. In April 2015, they obtained a certification in "Coding the Matrix: Linear Algebra through Computer Science Applications" from Coursera, and in March 2015, they obtained a certification in "Image and video processing: From Mars to Hollywood with a stop at the hospital" from the same institution. Dang-Khoa also has a certification from Microsoft called "The Tech Elite Top 10," but the specific month and year of its completion are not provided. Finally, they have an edX Honor Code Certificate for "Foundations of Computer Graphics" from edX, but the date of completion is unknown.
