Dr. Xu is a professor and director of the Institute of Nuclear Medical Physics, University of Science and Technology of China (Hefei, China). He previously held the Edward E. Hood Endowed Chair as Professor of Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Troy, New York, USA). He has also held adjunct faculty appointments in Medical Physics at Albany Medical College (Albany, New York) and Harvard Medical School (Boston, MA).
