Jorge Pecci

Non Executive Director/Member of the Advisory Board at Virtual i Technologies

Jorge Pecci has over 30 years of work experience in the marine industry. Jorge started their career as a Deck Officer/Master on various types of cargo vessels. Jorge then worked for Astra, Maruba, ELMA, Delbene, and YPF, where they gained experience in different seas and oceans.

In 1993, Pecci joined AIG as a Marine Claims Adjuster/Supervisor and later became the Marine Loss Control Regional Manager for Latin America. Jorge was responsible for technical consulting and advising new businesses. Jorge then served as SVP and Executive Vice President Global Marine, overseeing global operations and managing the Global Marine Loss Control Department.

In 2009, Pecci became the COO Global Marine at AIG, where they were in charge of strategic planning, budgeting, and collaboration with other businesses. Jorge also had executive responsibility for the Global Marine Loss Control Operation.

Pecci held various leadership roles at AIG, including Global Marine Executive Vice President and Head of Growth Economies, Head of Specialty Lines for Latin American Region, and Marine Practice Head - Americas Region. In these roles, they managed multiple offices and underwriters, and was responsible for marine operations in the Americas, Asia Pacific, Latin America, Middle East, Africa, and the CIS Countries.

In 2016, Pecci joined Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers as the Marine Practice Leader. Jorge then became the Chief Executive Officer at SafeWaters Underwriting Manager, where they were responsible for all aspects of the Specialty Marine Business and led its growth in the U.S. Additionally, they served as a Non-Executive Director/Member of the Advisory Board at virtual i.

Pecci's most recent role is as the Director of National Cargo Bureau, where they continue to contribute their expertise and experience in the marine industry.

Jorge Pecci has a strong educational background in maritime studies. In 1984, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Nautical Studies from the Escuela Nacional de Nautica in Argentina, which is a branch of the Worldwide Maritime University in Sweden. Jorge continued their education by pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Marine Surveying at the University of Greenwich from 1997 to 1999. Later, in 2005, Jorge completed a Master's degree in Maritime Law from the London Metropolitan University.

In addition to their formal education, Jorge Pecci has obtained several certifications to enhance their professional qualifications. Jorge is certified by the Maritime Association of South Carolina, with the certification being obtained in September 2021. In 2016, they became a Licensed Insurance Agent with a General Lines (Property-Casualty) specialization, certified by the Florida Department of Financial Services.
