James McGough is a skilled Wig and Make-up Designer and artist with extensive experience in the opera industry. Currently in the sixth season with Fort Worth Opera, McGough has been instrumental in creating costumes for the five-week festival each spring since May 2007. Additionally, McGough has provided expertise as a Wig and Makeup Designer for the Virginia Opera Association since September 1998, where responsibilities include designing wigs and make-up for all characters in the opera seasons and special events. McGough also serves as the Wig and Make-up Designer and Shop Manager for Virginia Opera. Academic credentials include a Master of Fine Arts in Theatrical Costume Design from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Science in Theatre from Eastern Michigan University.
