James (Jim) O'Quinn is a retired clergy and pastoral counselor with extensive experience in the United Methodist Church, serving from June 1982 to the present. O'Quinn held the role of Senior Minister at Tabernacle United Methodist Church since June 2018, and previously worked as a pastor and in various ministerial positions within the Virginia Conference and North Alabama Conference. Notably, O'Quinn has specialized in pastoral counseling for abuse victims and perpetrators, founding Lifeline Counseling Associates, Inc. and serving as a certified sex offender treatment provider. Education includes a D.Min. in Pastoral Counseling from United Theological Seminary, an M.Div. from Emory University, a BA in Religion from Birmingham-Southern College, and a Master's in Clinical Counseling from Bellevue University. O’Quinn has also contributed to clergy professional development and congregational revitalization through roles such as Director of Congregational Excellence for the James River District, and has experience in corrections as a case manager and counselor.
