Tim Forthman is a seasoned aerospace engineer with extensive experience in mechanical systems engineering and project leadership. Currently serving as a Senior Project Engineer and Group Lead for Mechanical Systems at Virgin Galactic since January 2021, Tim leads a small team focused on the design, integration, and testing of various systems for the SpaceShipTwo project. Prior to this role, Tim worked at The Spaceship Company from January 2012 to December 2020, initially as a Lead Mechanical Systems Engineer and previously as a Structural Engineer, where responsibilities included the design of the interior and seating for SS2-002. Tim's career began at NORDAM as an Engineer II from May 2006 to January 2012. Tim holds a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from The University of Kansas, earned in 2006.
