Beau Nelson has been in the makeup industry since 1995, when they began as a Makeup Artist at The Wall Group. In 2000, they became the Chief Executive Officer at Beaute Cosmetics. In 2014, they joined VIOLET GREY as a Brand Council Member and also became a Global Product Innovation Consultant at Max Factor/Covergirl and Color Group USA. In 2017, they were an Innovation Consultant at Dlabs.

Beau Nelson has been self-educated in the field of beauty since 1980.
