Carla Toko is a seasoned public health professional with extensive experience in advocacy, communications, and health system strengthening. Currently serving as a Senior Manager at VillageReach since July 2020, Carla has previously held roles including Manager of Advocacy & Communications at VillageReach and Behavior Change Communication Specialist at SANRU. Carla's expertise encompasses the implementation of community-based health initiatives, surveillance strategies for vaccine-preventable diseases, and national immunization communication plans. Earlier experience includes consulting roles with organizations such as UNICEF and Health Alliance International, where Carla contributed to training development and monitoring evaluation efforts. Carla holds a Master of Public Health in Global Health from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from UC Irvine.
