Marcel Slootweg's work experience includes the following:

- Software Engineer - Application Development at VIKTOR since February 2019.

- Masters Student at University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria from January 2017 to February 2019. Also worked as a Research and Teaching Assistant, assisting with marking tests, exams, assignments, leading practicals and tutorials mainly related to thermodynamics, thermoflow, and heat and mass transfer.

- Industree Trainee at Vehicle Dynamics Group, University of Pretoria in June and July 2015. Assisted with the design, manufacturing, and assembly of the Tow Hitch of the Tyre Characterization testing trailer, along with providing assistance on other parallel projects.

- Industrial Trainee at DLV Engineers (Pty) Ltd in January and February 2015. Learned and assisted with the design and simulation of air-conditioning systems through first principle calculations, and witnessed site surveying and progress meetings.

Marcel Slootweg began their education at the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria in 2012, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering. Marcel completed this degree in 2015. In 2016, they went on to obtain an Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering, again at the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria. Marcel then furthered their education by pursuing a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering with a field of study focused on Renewable Energy (Concentrating Solar Power) at the same university. Marcel completed their master's degree in 2018.
