Haakon Mathisen has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as Co-founder/CEO of VIERLIVE since March 2020. Prior to this, they co-founded and worked as a Project Manager at OLYP from January 2013 to March 2020. Haakon also worked as a Film Director from September 2012 to March 2020. Before that, they held the position of UX/SEO/Content editor at ABM reklame since 2004. Haakon has also worked as a Freelance Reporter at NRK from June 2012 to August 2014. Additionally, they had multiple roles at Radio Revolt, including Radioprater og tekniker from August 2007 to December 2011 and Teknisk sjef from January 2008 to January 2009.

Haakon Mathisen completed their Bachelor's degrees in Musicology and Philosophy from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in the period from 2007 to 2011. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism at Oslo and Akershus University College from 2011 to 2014.
