John Hay has diverse work experience spanning over multiple companies and roles. John'smost recent role was as a Plant Engineer at Victrex, where they managed a team of disciplined engineers and focused on safety, improvements, and projects. Prior to that, they worked as a DCS Engineer and gained knowledge on the ABB 800xA platform and Siemens hardware. John also served as an Instrument Technician at Victrex, where they successfully commissioned a new Siemens system. Before their time at Victrex, John worked as a Technician at Lofthouse of Fleetwood Ltd., an Electrician at SNACKHOUSE PLC, a Team Engineer at Arla Foods, and an Instrument Technician at Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI).

John Hay FCMI CMgr obtained their HNC in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Blackpool and The Fylde College, where they studied from 1990 to 1994. In 2019, they began pursuing their MSc in Manufacturing Leadership at Lancaster University and completed it in 2022. Additionally, they obtained a certification in AutoCAD: Annotation Scaling in Drawings from LinkedIn in October 2022.
