Reda Albatat has a diverse range of work experience. In 2016, after completing A-Levels, they developed custom Database Management Systems for local Money Exchange businesses. This involved using SQL, MS Access, and VBA to create features such as data visualization, processing, automated transactions, and a personalized user interface. The systems were highly praised by clients for increasing efficiency and practicality compared to manual generic tools.
From November 2017 to January 2018, Reda worked as a Computer Science Teaching Assistant at Westminster Academy. They used Python to teach programming concepts and effectively communicated with over 30 students to deliver engaging lessons.
In 2019, Reda interned as a Computer Vision Research Intern at the University of Westminster. They analyzed sign language using sign trajectories, sign speed, and facial expressions of deaf individuals. By implementing an auto-labelling tool using Python and OpenCV, they reduced manual labelling time by 90%. Additionally, Reda improved model accuracy by 8% by extracting elbow features and facial expressions from video data.
Starting in September 2020 and ending in October 2021, Reda worked as a Machine Learning Research Engineer at the University of Westminster. They developed an end-to-end automatic number-plate recognition system using Python, TensorFlow, and OpenCV. By implementing a multi-stage pipeline with state-of-the-art YOLO detectors, they achieved 90.3% accuracy.
Currently, Reda is employed as a Data Management Software Engineer at Vicon, starting in June 2023.
Reda Albatat attended the University of Westminster from 2016 to 2019, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng Hons) degree in Software Engineering. Reda'sfield of study during this time focused on Computer Science. Subsequently, they enrolled at Queen Mary University of London in 2019 and completed a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Artificial Intelligence, specializing in Computer Science. Albatat's education history highlights their focus on Computer Science, particularly in software engineering and artificial intelligence.
