Lu L. has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and industries. They started as a Project Management Assistant Intern at SEVEN Networks in 2012. After that, they worked as a Master Student at the Center for Optical and Electromagnetic Research from 2011 to 2014. Lu then joined Purdue University as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in 2014 before transitioning to the role of Graduate Research Assistant from 2015 to 2017.

In 2019, Lu joined Vibronix as a Principal Engineer, where they worked until becoming the Chief Technology Officer at VibroniX, Inc. in 2020. Concurrently with their work at VibroniX, they also held the position of Research Scientist at Boston University College of Engineering from 2019 onwards.
