Luke Zachmann is currently a Machine Learning Engineer and Lead Data Scientist at Vibrant Planet since August 2023. Previously, Luke served as Head of Data Science at Iggy, where leadership of the data science team at a seed-stage geospatial data startup involved bridging technical and business functions while reporting directly to the founder and CEO. Luke co-founded Conservation Science Partners and worked as a Senior Scientist there from March 2012 to March 2022, successfully raising approximately $3 million in funding from various federal, foundation, and industry partners. Prior experience includes roles as Lead Scientist at Northern Arizona University, where development of models and software for analyzing time series data addressed environmental issues, and positions as Research Assistant and Lab Manager at Utah State University, as well as Research Fellow at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Luke holds a Master of Science in Ecology from Utah State University and dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Environmental Science and English Language and Literature from the University of Minnesota Morris.
