Andy Birch has worked in the design industry since 2013. Andy began their career as an Art Manager at GC, where they oversaw and led art direction for a team of nine designers. During their time there, they also redesigned the company website, directed the in-house redesign of the company identity, and developed a new style guide and brand collateral. In 2015, they joined Mule Design Studio, an award-winning and world-renowned web design agency in San Francisco, where they worked as a Designer. Birch then began freelancing as an Interaction Designer for The Washington Post's Brand Studio in 2016, collaborating with the creative director and lead developer to design interfaces, editorials, and data visualizations for campaigns and branded content. Andy also worked as a Product Designer for MojoTech, a software engineering firm building digital products for clients in finance, healthcare, and insurance. From 2021 to 2022, Birch worked as a Senior Product Designer for Loyal and Ribbon, respectively. During their time at Loyal, they worked on Guide, housing Loyal's chatbot, live chat, and AI/ML capabilities. At Ribbon, they led Product Design across Financial Products, coordinating with two team PMs, TPM, and Engineering Manager, and managing one product designer. Their focus was on increasing transaction margins and overall transaction volume as well as agent comprehension. Currently, Birch is a Product Design Lead at Vibe Bio and a Design Mentor at adplist.org.
Andy Birch attended the University of San Francisco from 2011 to 2015, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Design.
