Akshay Dandekar, PhD, PE, currently serves as a Senior Engineer at VIAS3D since August 2023, following a role as a Mechanical Engineering Associate at Stress Engineering Services, Inc., where expertise in failure analysis and mechanical design improvements was applied to various engineering challenges. Educational credentials include a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, complemented by a Master’s in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and a Bachelor’s in Aerospace Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Previous experience encompasses research and development in non-linear viscoelastic modeling, finite element analysis, and manufacturing processes for aerospace applications, along with teaching assistance in numerical methods and significant contributions to high-performance computing frameworks.
