Kimberly Mishra has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Kimberly started their career as a Science Intern at Spheryx, Inc. in June 2018, where they focused on applying holographic nanoparticle characterization to optics research and solving industrial problems in the semiconductor and pharmaceutical market.
In September 2018, Kimberly joined New York University as an Undergraduate Research Assistant. Kimberly used R and data science libraries to analyze the effectiveness of policy changes in the use of force made by the Chicago Police Department in 2017. Additionally, they collaborated with the ACLU to obtain data on taser use through Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. During their time at NYU, they also designed experiments and wrote Python scripts to analyze and reconstruct data related to sound fields using a custom-built acoustic camera.
In June 2022, Kimberly joined Nearside, which was later acquired by Plastiq. Kimberly worked as a Software Engineer and contributed to the development of software solutions.
Most recently, they joined Viam as a Software Engineer in February 2023 and is currently in this role.
Kimberly Mishra completed their formal education at New York University. Kimberly obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics, specializing in the field of study, from 2016 to 2020. Afterward, they pursued further academic achievements and earned a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from New York University as well, from 2020 to 2022.
