Jeff Velez has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and machine learning. Jeff is currently working as a Software Engineer at Very, a fully-distributed IoT engineering firm. Prior to this, they worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at Omdena and completed a Machine Learning & Deep Learning BootCamp at Factored. Jeff also gained experience as a Software Engineer and Founding Engineer at Studio, an iOS Developer at Rappi and Banistmo, and as a Hardware & Embedded Firmware Engineer at Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Jeff also worked as an iOS Developer and Engineer Researcher at Universidad de Antioquía. Additionally, Jeff has entrepreneurial experience as the Founder & CTO of Jovot S.A.S.

Jeff Velez began their education in 2007 at Universidad de Antioquia, where they pursued a degree in Electronic Engineering. Jeff completed this program in 2014. In 2016, Jeff enrolled in the Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje (SENA), obtaining a certification as a Mobile Software Specialist with a focus on Mobile Devices Programming.

In addition to their formal education, Jeff has obtained several certifications. In 2015, they completed an iOS Apps Developer certification from Oja.la. Jeff further expanded their knowledge by earning a CNNA Exploration: Network Fundamentals certification from Cisco in 2013. Jeff has also obtained certifications in English proficiency, AWS Cloud Practitioner, and Digital Entrepreneurship.

To enhance their skills, Jeff has participated in various programs and sessions. In 2017, they completed the Silicon Valley Immersion Startups Program organized by SiliconValley.Travel. In 2018, they attended the Inside of TensorFlow program at Universidad de Antioquia. Most recently, in 2020, Jeff participated in the Factored AI Sessions.
