Iria Cancela Estévez has a diverse work experience in various roles within the bioenergy and chemical industries. From 2004 to 2007, they worked as a Chemical Industry Operator at Abengoa, where they monitored and controlled various processes and conducted product analysis. From 2007 to 2012, they served as a Shift Supervisor and was responsible for coordinating operations and ensuring maintenance work at the facilities. During this time, they also took on the role of In Charge of Health & Safety, where they planned and monitored preventive activities and coordinated business activities. From 2012 to 2014, Iria worked as a Quality, Environmental & Sustainability Assistant, where they ensured compliance with legal requirements and managed the integrated document management system. Since 2014, they have been working as an Occupational Health and Safety Manager at Vertex Bioenergy, where they manage the health and safety systems and ensures compliance with standards.
Iria Cancela Estévez began their education in 1999 at the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, where they pursued a degree in Technical Industry Engineering with a focus on Industrial Chemistry. Iria completed this program in 2003.
