Ignacio Garcia de Alvear has extensive work experience in the financial sector, particularly in the role of CFO. Ignacio began their career in 1995 as CFO for Abengoa Mexico, where they navigated an economic crisis and secured significant projects through new financing formulas. Ignacio then moved on to various roles within Abengoa, including CFO of Abengoa Bioenergy and CFO of Abengoa North America, where they focused on geographical and financial diversification. Ignacio also served as Co-CFO of Investor Relations & Capital Markets at Abengoa, managing investor relations and capital market activity. Ignacio later joined Madrileña Red de Gas as CFO, successfully placing a senior unsecured bond and securing a revolving credit facility. Most recently, in 2018, they became CFO at Vertex Bioenergy and a member of its board of directors and foundation, overseeing the company's biofuels production.
Ignacio Garcia de Alvear completed their Business Degree from IPADE Business School in Mexico D.F., Mexico. Ignacio then pursued a Bachelor Degree in Economics and Management from Universidad Loyola in Cordoba, Spain. Prior to that, they completed their senior year at Elian's School in Ireland. Ignacio also attended Inmaculado Corazón de MarÃa de Sevilla (Portaceli) School, a Jesuits School, from grades 1 to 11th.
