As a Sustainable Development Program Officer at Verra, Palak helps ensure the quality of projects registering with Verra programs and provides technical guidance to program users. She supports the development of Verra’s sustainable development programs, helping stakeholders achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Palak holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Master of Science in International Social & Public Policy from the London School of Economics (LSE). She is currently obtaining her second master’s degree in Quantitative Economics with the hopes of cultivating sustainable development policies which target the most marginalized communities.
While obtaining her various degrees, Palak co-founded the Green Governance Initiative, which empowers local, young individuals and community groups in India to initiate sustainable development activities with support for their members of parliament. She was also the Managing Director of the Center for Advanced Studies in Policy Research, during which she facilitated the provision of improved sanitation services to 5 million people. Additionally, Palak is an editor at Engender, a European Journal on Gender Studies. She has been awarded the Princess Diana Award by HRH the Duke of Sussex, the PLAN Impact Award, and other recognitions for her work on sustainable development through her organization.
While Palak currently resides in Estonia, she calls India home.
