Zigmunds Putnins is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in the telecommunications industry. Presently serving as an Associate Fellow and Distinguished Member of Technical Staff at Verizon since August 2016, Zigmunds specializes in deploying NGPON2 within the company's Optical Distribution Network. Previous roles include Senior Product Assurance/System Reliability Engineer at Fujitsu Network Communications, where Zigmunds focused on improving TL9000 metrics and enhancing customer support. Earlier positions at Fujitsu and ITT Industries involved managing system engineering teams and providing technical expertise for advanced communication systems. Zigmunds holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and two master’s degrees in Computer Science and Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Stony Brook University and Stevens Institute of Technology.
