Tobias Hedberg has a diverse work experience spanning two decades. In 2000, they served as a Squad Leader in the Swedish Armed Forces. From 2003-2006, they held the position of Quality Assurance Analyst at Arla Foods AB. In 2006, they were a Research Intern at Fujirebio Diagnostics AB. From 2007-2013, they were a PhD student, Laboratory Technician, and Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Gothenburg, dept. of Immunology & Microbiology. From 2015-2017, they were a Senior Research Scientist at AstraZeneca and Dfind Science & Engineering. During this time, they worked on developing, optimizing, and conducting in vitro assays for an autoimmunity project. Tobias also purified human primary cells for cell culture and flow cytometry. Finally, from 2017-present, they have held the roles of Tissue Engineer at VERIGRAFT and Laboratory Engineer at NovaHep AB.

Tobias Hedberg began their educational journey in 1997 when they attended Herrgårdsgymnasiet until 2000. Tobias then went on to the University of Gothenburg to obtain their Master of Science (MSc) in Molecular Biology from 2001 to 2006. In 2009, Tobias Hedberg obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Immunology from the University of Gothenburg. In 2016, they completed an online course in Design & Interpretation of Clinical Trials from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
