Associate Principal Scientist at Verge Genomics

Melanie Cobb, Ph.D., is an accomplished scientist currently serving as an Associate Principal Scientist at Verge Genomics, specializing in the molecular pathogenesis of Parkinson’s Disease using advanced techniques such as human induced pluripotent stem cells and robotic microscopy. With extensive experience at the Gladstone Institutes as a Staff Research Scientist, Melanie leads multiple research projects and mentors a small team. Prior research roles include graduate and teaching assistant positions at UC Davis, where Melanie explored ion channel dynamics and synapse formation, as well as an undergraduate research assistant position at Western Washington University focusing on ribosomal translation factors.
