Marieke Krikhaar is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in various organizations focused on social and environmental issues. Currently serving as a Senior Communications Advisor at Milieudefensie since November 2019, Marieke previously held roles as a Senior Communications Officer at Stichting Vluchteling and Communications Officer at Milieudefensie, where impactful campaigns were developed regarding global crises and environmental awareness respectively. Earlier experiences include communications advisory roles at the Netherlands Institute for Human Rights and Proefdiervrij, as well as a Policy Officer position at WO=MEN. Marieke holds a Master of Science in Conflict Resolution and Governance from the University of Amsterdam and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from University College Roosevelt.
