Jakob Flyvbjerg Christensen has held various roles in different companies throughout their work experience. In 1997, they started as a Freight Forwarder at A.P. Moller - Maersk and eventually became the General Manager, Business Unit Manager, and Operations Manager. From 2007 to 2010, they served as the Managing Director of APM Terminals Aarhus A/S and then as the Global Client Director at APM Terminals Management B.V. From 2014 to 2019, they were the CEO of Aarhus Havn - Port of Aarhus. Jakob Flyvbjerg also served as a Board Member at Danske Havne from 2016 to 2019. In 2020, they became the CEO of Verdo. Currently, they are an Executive Board Member at Green Power Denmark since 2022. Additionally, they are a Board Member at Naturhistorisk Museum Aarhus.
Jakob Flyvbjerg Christensen has a diverse education history. Jakob Flyvbjerg began their education at Randers Amtsgymnasium from 1989 to 1991, where they completed their generic student education. After that, they attended Aarhus University from 1993 to 1997, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Business Administration (BSc). Later, from 2000 to 2003, Jakob studied at Copenhagen Business School, earning a BSc - Bachelor - HD2 degree with a specialization in Supply Chain Management. It is also worth mentioning that Jakob has obtained several certifications, including a Management Course from IMD in February 2013, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Training from APM Terminals in June 2010, and a High Potential Program Certificate from Norfolkline A/S in September 2004.
