David Corson has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. David started their career as a Business Services Manager at F L Walker Chartered Accountants in 1987. David then worked as a Defence and Aerospace Business Accountant at ICI Nobels Explosives Ltd from 1988 to 1989.
In 1989, Corson became the Northern CFO & Finance Director at CH Industrials plc & Lakeland Holdings Ltd, where they successfully restructured a subsidiary company. From 1991 to 1994, they served as the Managing Director and Financial Director at Wallace McDowall Group, a family engineering business.
Corson then joined Scottish Enterprise Ayrshire as a Non Executive Director in 1998. David also held several non-executive roles at Ayrshire Development Fund Limited and Ayr College during the early 2000s.
In 1994, Corson became the Group Chairman/Finance Director at Newton Structures Limited. David led the buyout of the engineering group and grew it into four companies with a strong UK client base. David remained in this role until 2010.
Afterwards, Corson become the Chairman & Managing Director at Newton Security Doors Ltd. David raised capital finance and rebuilt the business to an annualized turnover rate of over £3 million before selling their equity stake in August 2011.
Most recently, Corson held the position of Group Commercial Director and CFO at Veracity UK Ltd, a company that focuses on developing and marketing innovative products for network video surveillance applications. David joined in 2012 and is currently in this role.
David Corson attended Glasgow University from 1980 to 1983, where they obtained a Bachelor of Accountancy (B.Acc) degree.
