Ruth Delaney is an experienced professional in the field of justice reform and education, currently serving as the Initiative Director for Unlocking Potential at the Vera Institute of Justice since June 2011. Ruth has managed technical assistance for college/prison partnerships under the Second Chance Pell Experimental Sites Initiative and has played a crucial role in establishing a post-secondary education continuum in New Jersey. Prior to this, Ruth held various positions at organizations such as The International Legal Foundation, Single Stop USA, WNYC Radio, and the JEHT Foundation, where expertise in grant writing, program management, and communications contributed to a significant impact in the nonprofit sector. Ruth holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from The Graduate Center, City University of New York, along with an M.A. in Liberal Studies and a B.A. in English from Manhattanville University.
