Hugues Schmitz has a diverse work experience in the field of procurement and purchasing. HUGUES was the VP PROCUREMENT LINE Energy & Specialties & Indirect at Veolia starting from September 2023. Prior to that, from 2021 to August 2023, they served as the CHIEF PURCHASING OFFICER at EQUANS France. Hugues also held the position of CHIEF PURCHASING OFFICER at SUEZ France from 2014 to 2020 and NETWORK BUSINESS PURCHASING DIRECTOR from 2007 to 2014. Before joining SUEZ France, they worked as a PURCHASING MANAGER at Veolia Water from 2002 to 2007.

In their earlier career, Hugues worked as a PURCHASER - INTERNATIONAL LOGISTICS MANAGER at SAUR from 1998 to 2002 and as an ASSISTANT TO THE DIRECTOR OF PURCHASING & LOGISTICS at Sénégalaise Des Eaux (SAUR INTERNATIONAL's subsidiary in Senegal) from 1996 to 1997.

Hugues Schmitz has a Bachelor of Business Administration - BBA from ESSEC Business School, which they obtained from 1992 to 1996. HUGUES also earned an Executive MBA with a specialization in Purchasing Management from the European Institute of Purchasing Management (EIPM) from 2012 to 2014. In 2017, they received a Yellow Belt certification in Lean Six Sigma Services from the SUEZ Learning Center. Hugues is currently pursuing an Executive MBA from ESSEC Business School.
